International Master on Global Clinical Research Training Program: Focus on Heart Failure

1 – Foreword

The International Master on Global Clinical Research Training Programme is a post-graduate course which has been developed to enable post-graduate trainees and junior faculty to become independent investigators in the field of clinical and basic cardiovascular research. It is designed for European and non-European medical graduates with the purpose of promoting international collaboration and networking in the area of cardiovascular research.

Specific objectives of the programme include:

1.         Critical appraisal of relevant scientific literature

2.         Important steps in the preparation of a grant proposal

3.         Statistical methods appropriate for clinical research

4.         Preparation of papers for publication

Young researchers enrolled in the Master’s programme will receive mentorship from international leaders in basic science and in clinical research. A good level of use of Microsoft programs (Word, Excel and Power Point) is therefore needed. Moreover, trainees will have access to a dedicated statistician and to several global databases. We also plan to promote research time abroad in the context of cultural exchanges between the University of Brescia and other institutions in different countries.
