Summer School 2025

Premises

The proposed Summer School is an interdisciplinary advanced course of study and updating that will offer the opportunity to gain professional experience of high qualifying value, also in terms of scientific research and empirical investigation of the topics addressed.

The chosen study theme serves as a virtuous pretext for understanding the complexity characterizing contemporary territories, both from a landscape perspective and in terms of architecture and urban planning.

Educational Objectives

·                Provide methodological and empirical tools related to urban planning techniques and design, as well as architectural and urban composition;

·                Encourage exchange among participants in both cultural terms and sharing personal experiences and knowledge;

·                Foster interdisciplinary contamination from both a theoretical and methodological point of view, including among teachers coming from different backgrounds and research institutions.

Purpose

To establish an International and Interdisciplinary Summer School of Advanced Studies (IISSAS) in the form of a workshop, centered on the theme of architectural planning and design of a “Museum Peace in Kharkiv, Ukraine”, following a holistic approach where architecture and engineering are united by a new way of designing that uses the principles of geometry, construction, spatiality, and materials of Nature as its generative code.

It aims to experiment with new forms of planning and design that consider the ongoing transformation processes of the territory, imagining cities and architectures that are not static but composed of open systems capable of adapting to the logic of Nature.

The IISSAS seeks to offer an educational and research opportunity where experts from diverse disciplines can engage in discussions on these themes.

The research focuses on studying the process of planning and designing cities and architectures aimed at reducing CO2 emissions, investigating methodological and design processes, and viewing the city and public space as places of cultural expression and natural continuity.

The design activity is understood here as an open work, a flexible tool for interpreting the dynamics of processes and natural and human-induced changes.
