The University of Brescia hosted ASEA-UNINET Plenary Meeting "For a peaceful and sustainable development"

From 8 to 12 September 2025, the University of Brescia welcomed over 120 delegates for the ASEA-UNINET Plenary Meeting, fostering dialogue on academic diplomacy, sustainable development and global collaboration.

Held in the historic Salone Vanvitelliano, the official opening featured addresses by Mayor Laura Castelletti, Rector Francesco Castelli and ASEA-UNINET President Roberto Ranzi.

The programme included thematic sessions on digital humanism, climate change, renewable energy, global health and ecological economics, reflecting the network’s interdisciplinary scope. Eight new Universities from Timor Leste, Romania, Czech Republic, Italy, Thailand, Malaysia, Cambodia joined the network.

Founded in 1994, ASEA-UNINET brings together more than 90 Universities from 16 countries across Europe and Southeast Asia. Through joint research, mobility programmes and policy engagement, the network continues to support academic exchange and global cooperation.
