REQUIRED MATHEMATICAL BACKGROUND
The assumed background includes basic mathematical knowledge of the following topics:
- Algebraic calculation (literal algebra, monomials, polynomials: operations, factorization, notable products, and division).
- First and second degree algebraic equations and inequalities.
- Fractional, irrational, absolute value, logarithmic and exponential rational equations and inequalities of first and second degree in one variable.
- Systems of equations and inequalities.
- Cartesian coordinates. Elementary geometry in the plane (straight line, circle, ellipse, parabola, hyberbola).
- Graphs and domain of elementary functions.
Tutoring to prepare the exams of the summer and september session 2026
The professors of Mathematics have organised 5 tutorial sessions to help prepare for the upcoming exams (summer session and September session). The tutorials will be done online.
The calendar of the lectures and the link to Teams are available here below
Assignment of the ALR of mathematics a.y. 2025/2026
For the Bachelor's Degree in Business and Economics, the Additional Learning Requirements (ALRs) of mathematics are assigned to:
- Students who achieve a score below the established threshold in the English TOLC-E test. For the academic year 2025/2026, this threshold is set at 4 points out of the 13 maximum achievable points in the “Mathematics” section of the English TOLC-E
- Students who have not taken the English TOLC-E test
- Students who enrol late and either have not taken the English TOLC-E or have taken it by obtaining a score lower than the fixed threshold in the “Mathematics” section of the English TOLC-E, i.e. lower than 4 points out of the 13.
Students with ALRs in mathematics assigned can enrol in the first year of the bachelor’s degree in Business and Economics but they are required to recover these ALRs, as explained below.
The ALRs in mathematics will be assigned to students at the end of October 2025.
LIST OF COURSES BLOCKED
Students are allowed to take the exams of the following courses only after the recovery of the ALR of Mathematics.
