The course is organized by the PhD Programmes "Analytics for Economics and Management" and "Business and Law"

The course aims at giving an introductory overview of
a) outlining the epistemological foundations of a scientific research
b) distinguishing between research approaches
c) understanding the role of causality and the place of causal claims in scientific research
d) addressing the research steps: literature review (and the related construction of a robust set of references), research questions, methodology.
