The Study Center for the Diagnosis and Treatment of Endocrine Neoplasms and Thyroid Diseases (NET) promotes clinical, translational and epidemiological research in the fields of thyroid diseases and endocrine oncology, fostering the integration of multidisciplinary expertise.
The main objectives of the Center are to:
- develop national and international research projects on pathogenic mechanisms, risk factors and genetic susceptibility to endocrine diseases;
- promote epidemiological studies and strategies for the identification and stratification of individuals at increased risk;
- develop and validate innovative diagnostic, prognostic and therapeutic tools, with particular attention to precision medicine, imaging, molecular diagnostics and emerging technologies;
- foster national and international scientific collaborations, multicenter studies, and participation in competitive research grants and projects, promoting integration among universities, healthcare institutions and research networks;
- promote shared diagnostic, therapeutic and care pathways, as well as educational activities, seminars, scientific meetings and continuing education initiatives for researchers, healthcare professionals, patients and the general public.
