The Faculty of Medicine and Surgery is the coordinating structure responsible for managing common services, coordinating and rationalising teaching activities, established according to article 25 of the Statute of Autonomy of the University of Brescia and named by the Council of the Coordination Structure for the Teaching Activities of Medicine and Surgery on 17 September 2013.
The Faculty also takes on the tasks related to care activities in accordance with the procedures and limits agreed upon with the Lombardy Region, guaranteeing the inseparability of clinical teachers’ care functions from those of teaching and research. To this end and in order to ensure the preparation, specialisation and lifelong updating of graduates and diploma holders, the availability of care facilities is ensured by the University through special agreements with the state, regional and local administrations, in particular those in charge of the National Health Service.
