Mobility and transport

biciclette

The University of Brescia has long been committed to enhancing the opportunities available to its academic community.

Through the Mobility Committee (which may be contacted at [email protected]), the University promotes a range of initiatives supporting sustainable urban and extra-urban transportation. In collaboration with student associations, bicycle air pump stations have been installed across all main campus areas, and video surveillance systems have been strengthened at bicycle parking facilities.

These initiatives not only advance environmental sustainability but also foster an active and healthy lifestyle among students and staff alike.

Embracing shared and sustainable mobility is not merely a responsible choice; it represents a valuable opportunity to reduce traffic congestion, improve air quality, and nurture a more cohesive and environmentally conscious community.

Thus, as the University of Brescia continues to serve as a model of academic excellence, it further distinguishes itself through its dedication to promoting more mindful and sustainable mobility — demonstrating that a sustainable future is within everyone’s reach, one step and one ride at a time.

The role of the Mobility Manager was established in accordance with the Italian Ministry of the Environment Decree of 27 March 1998. The Mobility Manager is responsible for promoting the use of environmentally sustainable means of transport for commuting (both home–work and home–study journeys).

In addition, the Mobility Manager fosters agreements with local public transport providers to implement integrated ticketing schemes, encourages sustainable mobility initiatives (such as non-motorised transport and the use of collective transport), and provides information on traffic and transport services.

The University of Brescia has set up a Mobility Committee to examine issues relating to mobility and accessibility of university facilities and propose solutions.
