WHAT IS PUBLIC ENGAGEMENT?
The University of Brescia promotes dialogue between research, culture, and society through public engagement activities aimed at citizens, schools, institutions, and businesses.
Our commitment stems from the belief that knowledge should be shared, accessible, and a source of value for the local area, contributing to the cultural, social, and economic development of the community.
CULTURE, PARTICIPATION, COMMUNITY
Through public engagement, UniBS carries out initiatives that establish a direct connection between the University and society, fostering active participation and the collaborative planning of activities of collective interest, in line with the role of Social Commitment to the Local Community as a driver of cultural and social impact.
In this context, the University is particularly committed to strengthening the cultural, artistic, and musical dimensions of public engagement.
OUR ACTIONS
UniBS promotes an integrated set of activities open to the community, including:
- Cultural events open to the local community
Meetings, conferences, exhibitions, festivals, and educational activities—some of which are held on the University campus—to make academic spaces increasingly accessible and a part of the community’s daily life.
- Musical and artistic activities
Initiatives that highlight the role of music and the arts as tools for inclusion and participation, including through the involvement of the University of Brescia Choir.
- Theater and creative workshops
Programs aimed at the academic community (students, faculty, and staff) and open to external participation to foster self-expression, dialogue, and shared cultural growth.
- Collaborations with the Local Community
Agreements and partnerships with cultural organizations, institutions, associations, and third-sector entities to develop joint projects and address the needs of the community.
