Students’ representatives in the centres

An elected representation of the students is guaranteed in all university bodies:

• Academic Senate of the University;
• University Board of Directors;
• University Evaluation Unit;
• University Sports Committee;
• Departmental Board;
• Joint Commissions;
• Programme Boards.

The regulations of the individual structures introduce protective measures for the student representation, including the chance to access the data necessary to fulfil the tasks attributed to it, respecting the law in force.

The elective mandates of the students last for two years and are only renewable once.

The participatory committee has advisory powers for matters concerning the services for students, the right to study, the university educational offer and the regulations for university fees. It is made up of the student representatives in the Academic Senate and University Board of Directors and also a member elected by the students for each Joint Commission in the university, as far as possible ensuring the presence of the majority of the lists present.

The Committee stays in office for two years, elects a co-ordinator from within who is responsible for calling and chairing meetings. The Committee meets at least every two months.
