THE UNI EN ISO 9001 STANDARD
The UNI EN ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems - Requirements is the reference standard for defining the requirements of an organisation's Quality Management System (QMS). It is internationally recognised and was last updated in 2015.
ISO 9001 QUALITY IN UNIBS
According to the UNI EN ISO 9001 standard, an organisation that chooses to adopt a quality management system decides to operate according to an effective and efficient «process approach» and makes a strategic decision that implies a number of benefits:
providing products/services on a regular basis;
achieving user satisfaction;
being more aware of possible risks and opportunities and developing the appropriate means to deal with them.
The University of Brescia has voluntarily adopted the ISO 9001 system alongside the AVA system with a view to integrating the University's Quality systems.
The promotion of a quality culture is intertwined with the values and strategic directions and encourages continuous improvement according to the logic of the PDCA (Plan - Do - Check - Act) cycle, committing the University's governance to internal and external stakeholders.
THE QUALITY POLICY
The Academic Senate, with resolution no. 92 of 22 April 2024, approved the document «Quality Policy», which states that the University of Brescia has in use a Quality Management System (QMS) aimed at supporting quality and sustainable teaching, research and third mission and is committed to the implementation of the AVA and ISO 9001 Systems.
The activities related to ISO certification are centrally managed by the U.O.C. Quality, Statistics and Reporting, assisted by a team of internal auditors of the University, listed in the Annex of the Director General's Disposition, updated on 22/07/2024.
