THE PROJECT TO ENHANCE WASTE SEPARATION ACROSS THE UNIVERSITY
Università di Brescia promotes overall waste reduction and implements separate waste collection across its facilities.
On 17 December 2025, the first phase of the project to enhance waste separation across the University was launched in all students residences.
Proper waste separation means turning waste into new resources, reducing waste, and protecting the environment.
In line with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the UN 2030 Agenda, Università di Brescia is committed to continuing as a responsible community by fostering and encouraging greater awareness of waste separation practices, helping to reduce the excessive consumption of natural resources (SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production).
The project, developed by the Sustainability Development Unit (UOC Sviluppo Sostenibile) in collaboration with the Environment Unit (UAFS Ambiente) and the University Residences and Canteens Unit (UOC Residenze Universitarie e Mense), and approved by the Academic Bodies on 21 July 2025, is the first step towards improving both the quality and quantity of separate waste collection across the University.
