University of Brescia joins the UNITA WP4 Staff week 2025

The University of Brescia, as a partner of the European Alliance UNITA – Universitas Montium, participated in the UNITA WP4 Staff Week held on June 18 and 19 at Universitatea Transilvania din Brașov (UNITBV).

The working group, composed of Prof. Roberto Ranzi – Vice-Rector for International Affairs, Prof. Silvia Giliani – Rector’s Delegate for International Research, the coordinators of the Global Health Hub of the Alliance and UniBs, Prof. Donatella Placidi and Prof. Elisabetta Ceretti, Rossella Benatti from the Sharing of Infrastructures and Knowledge task, Prof. Pietro Poesio and Mehwish Shabaz from the Graduate Schools in Alliance Focus Areas task, met with Alliance partners for operational meetings and cross-cutting discussions on research-related topics.

WP4 is one of the five work packages that define the Alliance, and its objective is to foster the development of rural and mountainous areas through activities related to Research and Innovation.

During the UNITA WP4 Staff Week 2025, the main themes of Work Package 4 (of which our University is a co-leader) were addressed, including the development of Research Hubs, the sharing of best practices among partners, the advancement of joint PhD programs, and the creation of a network to facilitate knowledge sharing on innovation in alignment with Smart Specialisation Strategies.

Strategies for research and innovation were discussed with the aim of transforming the six hubs* into inter-university European research institutes focused on the needs of their respective regions
