Insurance cover depends on the type of activity and the training site. 

Teaching and educational activities are covered by the University within the terms of its current policies. 

Clinical activities carried out at institutions within the training network are covered by the healthcare institution where the activity takes place. 

For external training in Italy or abroad, insurance is not automatically the responsibility of the host institution: responsibilities, cover and related costs must be specified in the agreement, convention or Foreign Training Agreement governing the individual training period. Before starting, check with the School that all required insurance policies have been identified and activated. 

Insurance for gross negligence remains the resident doctor’s responsibility.
