- Accident during clinical or healthcare activities
In addition to completing the requirements of the host institution, you must immediately notify:
- the Specialist School Office;
- the Director of the Specialist School.
You must also:
- notify the person responsible for the unit or institution where you are undertaking your training;
- attend the Emergency Department or the appropriate healthcare facility;
- submit the following documents to the competent office of the host institution:
- the documents issued by the Emergency Department;
- any certificates extending the accident-related absence;
- the final certificate closing the accident case;
- send a copy of the documents to the Specialist School Office and report any periods of absence;
- retain a copy of all documents.
The host institution submits the accident report to the competent INAIL office. The same procedure applies to commuting accidents connected with clinical activities.
2. If the accident occurs during an exclusively educational or training activity that does not involve clinical care:
- complete the accident notification form for resident doctors;
- attach the certificate issued by the Emergency Department;
- send the signed form and certificate to [email protected];
- include your telephone contact details.
If the accident also causes damage to property or injury to another person, send a report describing the event, together with photographs and supporting documents, to [email protected]. [unibs.it]
3. If the accident occurs during external or overseas training, immediately notify the School Director as well and ask the host institution which office must receive the documents and submit the accident report. Do not wait until you return to Italy before reporting the accident.
Important: any subsequent certificates extending or closing the accident case must be sent to the same office that received the initial documentation.
