Course Structure

The Foundation Year includes a first semester (October–December) of Italian language and culture lessons and a second semester (February–May) of lessons of the study track chosen by the student among Engineering and Sustainable Agricultural SystemsMedicine, or Economics and Law.
The total educational commitment is 508 hours = 61 CFC (Foundation Course Credits), divided as follows:

  • 200 hours of Italian language and culture (25 CFC)
  • 288 hours of lessons and exercises dedicated to subject-specific study track (36 CFC)
  • 20 hours of additional Italian language support.

Italian Language and Culture

The Italian Language and Culture course is divided into two courses, based on the students’ initial language skills:

  • Basic level
  • Intermediate level

Both courses have a total duration of 200 hours.

Subject-Specific Study Tracks

Students must choose one of the three available tracks offered in the second semester:

– Engineering and Sustainable Agricultural Systems (36 CFC)

Calendar and Exams

Lessons begin in October 2026 and end in May 2027.

Examination sessions are:

  • January 2027
  • June/July 2027
  • September 2027

The Foundation Year is considered successfully completed only if the student:

  • has attended at least 70% of the classes in each course and has been admitted to the exams of all the scheduled subjects;
  • has passed all final assessments by the end of September 2027.
