The Laboratory-Observatory on Gender Studies (LOG) is a Centre administratively based within the Department of Law. LOG promotes, coordinates and develops research and educational activities, providing services of general interest to the University in pursuit of the objectives set out below.
LOG’s institutional objectives are to:
- Develop research activities in the fields of gender studies and equality.
- Develop actions aimed at:
- removing barriers to women’s entry into and career progression in research;
- improving gender balance within decision-making bodies;
- strengthening the integration of gender studies into academic curricula;
- developing strategies to counter gender bias.
- Establish contacts with both civil society organisations and institutions in order to build a network aimed at achieving the objectives outlined above.
- Organise seminars and academic conferences in LOG’s fields of interest.
- Organise and deliver educational and training activities, including postgraduate programmes, in accordance with LOG’s objectives.
- Develop collaborative activities with national and international centres operating in similar fields. In particular, LOG seeks to facilitate and coordinate, at local, national and international levels, the exchange of information and initiatives designed to promote interdisciplinary cooperation in pursuit of its objectives. To this end, it may establish or promote appropriate organisational instruments, as well as partnerships and agreements with Italian and foreign public and private bodies.
- Develop collaboration and research activities aimed at promoting gender equality in the workplace and in business.
