On Monday, 16 March 2026, at 4:30 p.m., in the Aula Magna of the Faculty of Law (Via S. Faustino, 41), a conference entitled “The Energies of the Future” will be held.
The event will feature a high-level discussion on the future of global energy systems, bringing together two key players in the energy transition: the Director-General of ITER, the largest international project for the development of nuclear fusion, and the CEO of A2A, one of Europe's leading energy companies.
Starting from the major challenges facing energy management in the coming decades – security of supply, environmental sustainability and growth in demand – the debate will focus on the strategic role of advanced nuclear technologies, with particular attention to fusion.
ITER is currently the world's leading laboratory for demonstrating the scientific and technological feasibility of fusion as an energy source, while the industrial perspective will offer a concrete interpretation of the prospects for integration into the energy system and markets. The meeting aims to provide a shared and forward-looking vision of how scientific innovation, industry and energy policies can converge towards a secure, competitive and low-emission energy future.
