On 3 July, the BIP My 3-Min PhD came to a close. The programme involved experts and lecturers in science communication, expressive techniques, and public speaking, who trained 20 PhD candidates in refining their communication skills.
The aim of the programme was to prepare participants to present their research projects in just three minutes to a non-specialist audience, on the stage of the Teatro Mina Mezzadri in Brescia.
The final contest took place on 2 July. The jury, composed of academic staff and personnel from the universities of the UNITA Alliance, together with Alessandra Ideo (Education and Human Capital Area at Confindustria Brescia and former Associated Partner of the Alliance), announced the winners of the 2026 edition:
- 1st place: Luca Elettrico (UNITO – University of Turin)
- 2nd place: Ariana Andra Șerpar (UVT – West University of Timișoara)
- 3rd place: Emeline Delcros (UPPA – University of Pau and the Adour Region)
This BIP and the final contest represented an important opportunity for training and European exchange, offering doctoral candidates the chance to develop essential transferable skills for communicating research in a clear, effective, and accessible way to a broad audience, while fostering a strong sense of belonging to Europe and to the European Alliance UNITA – Universitas Montium.My 3-Minute PhD Thesis is a competition in which 20 PhD candidates from 10 universities of the European Alliance UNITA – Universitas Montium present their research projects in a clear, engaging, and accessible way to a non-specialist audience in just three minutes.

On 2 July, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., the Teatro Mina Mezzadri in Brescia will host the final of the competition promoted by UNITA – Universitas Montium. The event is part of the broader WP4 Research&Innovation Meeting UNITA organized and hosted by our University.
This is a unique opportunity to discover the talent, passion, and research projects of the next generation of European researchers.
