Tuesday, September 8, 2026, 7:00 p.m.
Church of San Giuseppe

As part of the European Congress of Physiology, a concert by Maestro Giorgio Costa will be held on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. at the Church of San Giuseppe.

Giorgio Costa, who graduated with highest honors under the guidance of E. Occelli from the G. Verdi Conservatory in Turin in 1977, took advanced courses with Alberto Mozzati and Fausto Zadra at the Ecole Internationale de Piano in Lausanne. In 1980, he attended courses at the Accademia Chigiana in Siena, in Riccardo Brengola’s class. Subsequently, his desire to draw upon a musical education grounded in historical and philosophical principles led him, beginning in 1985, to attend courses on the Phenomenology of Music taught by Sergiu Celibidache at the University of Mainz. In 1988, he took part in a master class led by Murray Perahia in Florence. Meanwhile, his vocation as a soloist dedicated to the classical repertoire became evident; he also cultivated this in the chamber music sphere, where his repertoire ranged from harpsichordists to contemporary composers, with a particular focus on the great composers of the Romantic era. His concert activity became intense and extensive, earning acclaim from both audiences and critics. In fact, he has toured throughout Europe, Japan, Mexico, and the United States. In keeping with this generous presence on the music scene, he has been available for public recordings for RAI; he has released several CDs dedicated to Chopin and Piazzolla with Arnoldo Foà.
