On Friday, October 2, 2026, the conference “The Dialogue Between National and Supranational Courts in the Tax System” will be held in the Aula Magna of the Department of Law at the Università degli Studi di Brescia. The event is part of a series of study sessions organized by Insubria, the Università degli Studi di Brescia, and the University of Milan.
The conference is dedicated to the role that dialogue between national and supranational courts plays in ensuring the uniform application of European Union law, with a particular focus on tax matters. The central theme of the event is the gradual transformation of the national court—and specifically the tax court—into a “general” court of EU law: a court called upon not only to apply domestic legislation but also to verify its compatibility with European sources, to interpret it in accordance with those sources, and, when necessary, to utilize mechanisms for cooperation with the Court of Justice of the European Union and the Constitutional Court.
