Agreement: between CRUI-CARE and RSC.

Duration: from 2022 to 2024, extended for 2025 (expired on 31/12/2025).

Benefit: full APC coverage (no cost for the authors). Additional service costs, such as reprints or cover artworks, are not included.

Eligible journals: all hybrid journals. Hybrid journals that become fully open access during the agreement period are included.

Additional information
Number of articles: limited. After reaching the limit, costs will be charged to authors, who, in the case of hybrid journals, may request to opt out of the open access model and publish under the subscription model.
Eligible articles: analyses, applications, chemistry frontiers, communications, concise articles, critical reviews, edge articles, emerging areas, feature articles, focuses, forums, frontiers, highlights, letters, methods, mini-reviews, new product updates, opinions, papers, perspectives, research articles, review articles, synopses, technical innovations, technical notes, tutorial accounts, tutorial reviews, viewpoints.

NOTICE
The agreement expired on 31 December 2025 and renewal negotiations are currently ongoing. In the meantime, the publisher has agreed to implement the new contract in advance, allowing publications with APC coverage from 1 January 2026 for hybrid journals and from 1 May 2026 for fully gold open access journals. In both cases, an unlimited number of vouchers will be available.
