Agreement: between CRUI-CARE and RSC.

Duration: from 2022 to 2024, extended for 2025 (expired on 31/12/2025).

Benefit: full APC coverage (no cost for the authors). Additional service costs, such as reprints or cover artworks, are not included.

Eligible journals: all hybrid journals. Hybrid journals that become fully open access during the agreement period are included.

Additional information
Number of articles: limited. After reaching the limit, costs will be charged to authors, who, in the case of hybrid journals, may request to opt out of the open access model and publish under the subscription model.
Eligible articles: analyses, applications, chemistry frontiers, communications, concise articles, critical reviews, edge articles, emerging areas, feature articles, focuses, forums, frontiers, highlights, letters, methods, mini-reviews, new product updates, opinions, papers, perspectives, research articles, review articles, synopses, technical innovations, technical notes, tutorial accounts, tutorial reviews, viewpoints.

NOTICE
The contract expired on 31/12/2025 and renewal negotiations are currently underway. At present, we are awaiting guidance from CRUI regarding how open access publishing will be managed during this transitional phase. Until further notice, APC coverage under the contract should be considered suspended.
