Università di Brescia considers sustainability a fundamental value and a shared responsibility. It guides its decisions towards the pursuit of well-being from a cross-cutting and intergenerational perspective, integrating environmental, social, economic and ethical dimensions into teaching, research and the management of spaces, in order to meet the needs of the present without compromising those of future generations.
Università di Brescia is a member of the Network of Universities for Sustainable Development (RUS), established by the Conference of Italian University Rectors (CRUI), whose primary aim is “to promote a culture of sustainability both within and beyond universities.” Università di Brescia holds the presidency of the Network for the 2025–2027 term.
The Plan lies at the heart of Università di Brescia’s efforts to implement the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations 2030 Agenda. With a focus on teaching, research and the management of university spaces, the University promotes a responsible and inclusive environment while strengthening the relationship between people and the local area.
The University Sustainable Development Plan 2018–2022 will remain in force until the new Plan, which is currently being drafted, is approved.

In line with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations 2030 Agenda, Università di Brescia, through the active contribution of all its constituent bodies, is committed to developing projects aimed at reducing the University’s environmental footprint, improving the quality of its spaces, and promoting responsible lifestyles, social inclusion and the reduction of inequalities. In pursuing these goals, it actively engages both the University community and the local area.
