Climate resilient Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) solutions in low-income countries
The XV International Summer School - Climate resilient Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) solutions in low-income countries, organized by Università degli Studi di Brescia and CeTAmb, will take place in person in Brescia from 15 to 19 June 2026.
The initiative is aimed at students, doctoral students, researchers, professionals, and technicians interested in climate resilience in WASH services in resource-limited countries.
The program includes an intensive week of training, with lectures dedicated to highly topical and scientifically and technically relevant topics, including the resilience of water supply services, sanitation systems, solid waste management, and challenges and adaptation in the WASH sector.
The activities will be led by internationally recognized faculty and experts.
The Summer School will also include presentations by doctoral students and a social program designed to foster scientific, technical, and professional exchange among participants.

Strengthening Techniques of Existing Bridges
3rd International Summer School – Strengthening Techniques of Existing Bridges, organized by Università degli Studi di Brescia, will take place in person in Brescia from June 29 to July 3, 2026.
The initiative is aimed at students, doctoral students, researchers, professionals, and technicians interested in the assessment, management, monitoring, rehabilitation, and strengthening of existing bridges.
The program includes an intensive week of training, with lectures dedicated to highly topical and scientifically and technically relevant topics, including bridge safety assessment, rehabilitation and strengthening strategies, the use of innovative materials such as UHPFRC and FRP systems, numerical modeling, nonlinear analysis, experimental testing, case studies, and design approaches according to international standards.
The activities will be led by internationally recognized instructors and experts, including Antonino Recupero, Mário Pimentel, Yuguang Yang, Christian Carloni, Aurelio Muttoni, Giovanni Plizzari, and Fausto Minelli.
The Summer School will also include technical visits, presentations by doctoral students, and a social program designed to foster scientific, technical, and professional exchange among participants.

International Summer School 2025 – “Deindustrialisation as a Project”
Dal 8 al 13 settembre 2025 si svolgerà l’International Summer School “Deindustrialisation as a Project | The Project within Deindustrialisation”, promossa dall’Università degli Studi di Brescia e dall’Università degli Studi di Ferrara, con il sostegno della Provincia di Brescia, dell’Allenza UNITA - Universitas Montium e del progetto TNE - Transnational Education.
La Summer School, rivolta a studenti magistrali, dottorandi e ricercatori, intende esplorare la deindustrializzazione come progetto politico, ecologico e territoriale. Le attività si concentreranno sulla rivalorizzazione dei territori post-industriali, sulle forme dell’abitare in contesti urbani e rurali in transizione e sulla contaminazione ambientale intesa nelle sue dimensioni materiali, storiche e politiche.
Le sessioni si svolgeranno tra Brescia e la Valcamonica, con particolare attenzione a Via Milano (Brescia), al sito UCAR Carbon/ex-Selca di Forno Allione e a Valsaviore, interpretati come parte di un’unico, e complesso territorio deindustrializzato.
Il coordinamento scientifico e organizzativo è affidato a Barbara Badiani, Marco Alioni, Barbara Angi e Irene Peron dell’Università degli Studi di Brescia e a Elena Dorato e Richard Lee Peragine dell’Università degli Studi di Ferrara. Il Comitato Scientifico coinvolge studiosi di Università degli Studi di Brescia, Università Ca’ Foscari Venezia, Politecnico di Torino, Concordia University di Montréal, Universidad de Zaragoza, e University of Tuzla. Tra i relatori figurano Steven High, Damir Arsenijevic, Lucía Carmen Pérez Moreno, Gilda Zazzara e Antonio di Campli.
