The Coordination Center for Research and Services on Nutraceuticals and Functional Food for Health -NutriFun4Health is based at the Department of Molecular and Traslational Medicine (DMMT).
The center promotes scientific research in the agri-food and nutraceutical fields for the maintenance, prevention and treatment of the main chronic diseases related to lifestyle and diet and aims to contribute to:
- produce innovation and competitiveness in the agri-food and nutraceutical fields to support the well-being of the community, through a systematic and multidisciplinary scientific model.
- lead to the development and / or validation of new nutraceutical products whose properties are guaranteed by studies conducted with high methodological rigor, following the guidelines issued by the main institutions operating in the field of nutraceutical products and quality certification .
- provide companies operating in the field of health food products (nutraceuticals, foods for special medical purposes, enriched foods and, more generally, functional foods) services aimed at developing new products, improving their quality, guaranteeing them, on a scientific basis , safety and efficacy, and supporting them in the request for nutritional and / or health claims, in accordance with the relevant legislation.

The strength of the NutriFun4Health research center is multidisciplinarity, making use of expertise in the agri-food, botanical, chemical, pharmaceutical, technological-pharmaceutical, pharmacological and clinical fields.
NutriFun4Health wants to be an inclusive and dynamic reality whose goal is to do high-level research and offer cutting-edge services, in collaboration with Italian and foreign research institutes, local production companies and public and private bodies.
