Conference: “Health Professions in the Thought of Franco Basaglia”

On November 9, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., the Università di Brescia will host a conference at the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery dedicated to the legacy of Franco Basaglia, with a particular focus on the role of healthcare professionals in promoting mental health.

The event will bring together national experts, representatives from institutions, academia, and mental health services to explore the relevance of the Basaglian revolution today, through historical reflection, local experiences, and future perspectives. The program will also feature theatrical performances inspired by the themes of inclusion and human dignity, as well as a concluding discussion open to participants.

The event is sponsored by the Marco Cavallo Association and the Bachelor’s Degree Program in Professional Education, as part of awareness-raising activities dedicated to mental health, and represents an important opportunity for interdisciplinary dialogue aimed at students, faculty, healthcare professionals, and all interested members of the public.
