Giulio Aleni, a cultural bridge between Italy and China | A Symposium with prof. Eugenio Menegon, Boston University for the 400th Anniversary of the arrival of Giulio Aleni in Fujian

To mark the 400th anniversary of Giulio Aleni's arrival in Fujian, the Università degli Studi di Brescia and the Fondazione della Civiltà Bresciana Centro Giulio Aleni are organising a symposium entitled “Giulio Aleni, a cultural bridge between Italy and China”, which will be held on Tuesday 25 November 2025 from 2.30 p.m. in the Salone Apollo of the Rectorate.

In the morning, at 10 a.m., at the headquarters of the Fondazione Civiltà Bresciana and the Centro Giulio Aleni, in Vicolo San Giuseppe 5, the bronze bust of Giulio Aleni will be unveiled. This will be followed at 11:30 a.m. by the unveiling of the bust at Parco Padre Giulio Aleni, at the intersection of Viale Venezia and Viale Rebuffone, in the presence of sculptor Cesare Monaco.
