Which activities may be compatible?

Subject to the conditions established by current legislation, the Regulations permit the following activities:

• temporary replacement of general practitioners;
• out-of-hours primary care, including night and public-holiday medical cover;
• tourist medical services;
• voluntary, unpaid and occasional collaboration with non-profit organisations collecting blood and blood components;
• intramural private practice only for activities covered by specialist qualifications already held, in accordance with national and regional rules and the agreement with the healthcare institution or training body;
• other activities or appointments specifically made compatible by sector-specific national legislation.

All activities must take place outside specialist-training hours, must not interfere with placements or training objectives, and must be notified to the School Director in advance.

Before accepting an appointment, ask the University to verify the legal basis, any required authorisations and working-time limits by opening the relevant ticket from your personal area. A breach of the compatibility rules may lead to early termination of the specialist training contract.
