QS World University Ranking 2026. Impatto della Ricerca

The Università di Brescia's impact in the world of research is growing. In the prestigious international ranking, which assesses over 8,800 universities in 106 countries, the University of Brescia has climbed the QS World University Rankings 2027 to 581st place worldwide, jumping 69 places compared with the previous edition. The most significant result in this edition – described by QS as "one of the most notable results of the year" – is the extraordinary growth in the "Citations per Faculty" indicator, which measures research impact through the number of citations per academic staff member. With a score of 93.2, the Università di Brescia has climbed 39 places – following last year’s record rise of 99 places – moving from 124th to 85th place worldwide and confirming its position as the second-ranked university in Italy and the top-ranked public university.

The Rector, Prof. Francesco Castelli, and the Pro-Rector for Research, Prof. Renata Mansini, commented on these results with great satisfaction: "This achievement reflects the growing international influence of the research carried out at our university. The further rise of 39 places in the Citations per Faculty indicator testifies to the international impact of our research and the commitment of all our academic staff. We will continue to invest in programmes of excellence and international collaborations to consolidate our position on the global stage.”

This international result is also reflected in the QS national rankings, where the Università di Brescia occupies 19th place out of a total of 47 Italian institutions assessed.

Over the last five years, the Università di Brescia has seen extraordinary growth in the prestigious QS World University Rankings. Compared with the 2023 edition, in which the University of Brescia was ranked in the 801–1000 bracket with a score of 29.7, the University has climbed the rankings to reach 581st place globally this year with a score of 61.4: this progress reflects an exceptional improvement over the last five years, which has enabled the University to halve the gap to the top of the world rankings.
