On October 21, the Università degli Studi di Brescia welcomed the Rector of the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru (PUCP), Prof. Julio Del Valle Ballón, accompanied by Prof. Giovanni F. Priori Posada, a professor of civil procedural law at the Peruvian university.
During the visit, the delegation was received by the Rector of the Università di Brescia, Prof. Francesco Castelli, and by the Vice Rector for Internationalization Policies, Prof. Roberto Ranzi, for an institutional meeting dedicated to strengthening academic and scientific collaboration between the two universities. The discussion focused, in particular, on prospects for expanding international mobility for students and faculty, the development of joint educational and research initiatives, and the possibility of establishing degree programs leading to dual degrees.
The visit continued with the seminar “Conflict Transformation and Social Cohesion”, held in the Sala dei Grifoni of the Department of Law. The meeting was attended by the Vice Rector and Department Chair, Prof. Adriana Apostoli; Prof. Roberto Ranzi; Prof. Luca Passanante, delegate for International Relations and the Erasmus+ program at the Department of Law; Prof. Matteo Frau, UNIBS representative for Task 2.5 of the UNITA European Alliance, dedicated to European citizenship; and Prof. Giovanni Turelli, the Rector’s Delegate for the University Library System and the Department Chair’s Delegate for Social Engagement in the Local Community.
The seminar provided an opportunity to discuss prospects for collaboration within the framework of a new master’s degree program, currently being developed at the Università di Brescia, with particular reference to the possibility of establishing an international dual-degree program with the Peruvian university.
During the visit, a new meeting room was also inaugurated at the Law School’s Porta Pile campus, in the presence of Vice Rector Adriana Apostoli. This space is intended to host meetings and collaborative activities with partner universities of the European UNITA Alliance and with PUCP, which participates in the international GEMINAE network linked to the Alliance.
The visit is part of the collaborative relationship between the two universities and demonstrates their shared interest in consolidating and expanding opportunities for international cooperation in teaching and research through a multidisciplinary approach.
