On Thursday, January 30, H.E. the Ambassador of Germany, Dr. Hans-Dieter Lucas, visited the University of Brescia along with his delegation. During his visit, he met with the Rector, Prof. Francesco Castelli, as well as the Vice Rectors and Department Directors. Hon. Giangiacomo Calovini, a member of the Foreign and European Affairs Commission was also in attendance.
The meeting served as an opportunity to highlight and strengthen the strong ties between the University of Brescia and the German academic system. With 22 Erasmus mobility agreements, 30 double degrees in International Business and Management awarded to students from Brescia and Mainz through the partnership with Hochschule Mainz, and a balanced exchange of nearly 100 students between Brescia and Germany since 2017, it is clear that German partner universities are among the top destinations for student mobility from Brescia and that they recognize the prestige of our university.
A tangible confirmation of this collaboration is the 20 active European research projects currently being carried out with German universities, supported by significant European funding granted to the University of Brescia. Additionally, more than 1,900 jointly authored publications between faculty members and researchers from our university and German institutions have been featured in leading scientific journals.
