CEEP-Catalysis for Energy and Environmental Protection

The group

The CEEP - Catalysis for Energy and Environmental Protection - group focuses on the development of innovative catalytic processes with the aim of implementing green and sustainable production technologies that helps provide a paradigm shift from fossil-based manufacturing to
renewable materials. This includes research areas on CO2 capture and valorisation for the production of platform chemicals and bio-fuels and the design of catalytic systems for environmental protection to reduce emissions in the industry and transport sector, which are directly responsible of poor urban air quality.

Research activity

The CEEP Research Group works on the development of heterogeneous catalysts for energy conversion and after treatment technologies. The research focus on environmental catalysis for the control of emissions in the transport sector and the development of multifunctional catalysts for Gas-To-Liquid technologies for the CO2 capture and valorisation from waste streams to methanol, DME and biofuels. These areas of interest represent the group's core mission for the sustainable production of relevant basic chemicals from raw materials of zero impact and fuels from renewable sources.
