Compilation Thesis
- How it works: This requires the student to collect and critically analyse bibliographic material relating to the cultural and professional content of the Master’s degree programme.
- Duration: Minimum 3 months.
- Degree marks: Entitles the student to a maximum of 6 marks.
Experimental thesis
- How it is carried out: Students who choose to undertake this type of thesis must carry out experimental work for at least 6 months at a research laboratory within the University where their supervisor or co-supervisor is based, making an active contribution to a research project and presenting the results obtained in a final report with appropriate autonomy and a critical approach. The experimental work may also be carried out, under the supervision of a supervisor, in public or private institutions with which appropriate agreements have been concluded.
- Duration: Minimum 6 months.
- Degree marks: from the minimum required to a maximum of 11 marks.
Students choose the subject area for their dissertation based on their aptitude or interest in specific subjects.
Under the supervision of a supervisor (a tenured lecturer or researcher), students must independently carry out work involving the development, analysis or in-depth study of a research project – which may also take the form of a dissertation placement – with the aim of producing an original dissertation.
Students may approach their supervisor to propose a topic for their dissertation, or alternatively they may choose from the dissertation topics suggested by their supervisor.
