Università di Brescia encourages the creation of new spin-offs, defined as entrepreneurial initiatives stemming from research activities, with the aim of facilitating market access and the commercialization of scientific results.
Proposals for spin-off accreditation undergo an evaluation process based on various scientific, technological, and economic criteria. This evaluation is conducted by the University's Patents and Spin-offs Commission, the body responsable for reviewing applications and issuing recommendations for accreditation.
The Patents and Spin-offs Committee is composed of:
- Prof. Laura Eleonora DEPERO, , Full Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering - Chair
- Prof. Elisabetta COMINI, Full Professor in the Department of Information Engineering and the Rector's Delegat for Innovation and Technology Transfer
- Stefania VENTURI, Head of the Reserarch and Innovation Service
- Daniela VALCAMONICO, Innovation and Crowdfunding Unit
Following a successful outcome of the selection process, the initiatives may be accredited as "Spin-offs of the Università di Brescia".
*Pursuant to the Regulations for the Establishment of Spin-offs (issued by Rector's Decree No. 15 of January 14, 2025), spin-off status ceases upon the completion of the tenth year following the company's incorporation.
