Since the 2024/2025 academic year, the POT-PLS initiatives (Orientation and Tutoring Plan and Scientific Degree Plan) have been implemented in accordance with Ministerial Decree (DM 1047/2017) issued by the Italian Ministry of University and Research.
The Orientation and Tutoring Plans (POT) aim to improve the quality of guidance and tutoring services by supporting young people both in choosing a degree programme and during their first years at university, with the objectives of:
- encouraging students to continue their studies after upper secondary education;
- reducing dropout and attrition rates;
- increasing the percentage of students who successfully complete their degree programmes within the expected timeframe.
The Scientific Degree Plan (PLS), established in 2004 through an initiative of the Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research (MIUR), the Conference of Deans of Science and Technology, and Confindustria, is a national programme designed to promote enrolment in scientific degree courses. It also seeks to foster gender balance by offering active guidance opportunities that engage upper secondary school students directly with scientific disciplines.
Throughout the year, the University of Brescia, in collaboration with other Italian universities, will organize a wide range of activities within this framework. We will keep you informed as new opportunities become available. These initiatives vary in nature and implementation methods according to the proposals developed by the different academic disciplines.
