In recent years we are witnessing an epidemiological transition towards chronic-degenerative diseases, with a strong impact on the paediatric population, which will have to manage them throughout their lives.
In the post-Covid period, new priorities emerge: prevention, early diagnosis, promotion of healthy lifestyles, enhancement of empowerment and attention to the territory with Community Homes, aspects to be integrated in health education.
Therapeutic Education, recognised at international level, underlines the importance of an alliance between health institutions, schools and associations. These changes take time but contribute to improving the state of well-being of the general population and of people with chronic diseases, as well as improving the sustainability of the National Health Service.
