Agreement: between CRUI-CARE and Springer Nature (comprising two separate components: Springer and Nature).

Duration: from 2025 to 2029 for the Springer component; from 2026 to 2029 for the Nature component.

Benefit: full APC coverage (no cost for the authors).

Eligible journals: hybrid journals published by Springer Nature. The Springer component includes journals under the Springer, Adis, and Palgrave Macmillan imprints, as well as the Nature Academic Journals. The Nature component covers Nature and the Nature Research Journals. See the lists at the bottom of this page. Journals that transition to a fully open access publishing model during the agreement period will continue to be covered.

Additional information
Number of articles: limited. After reaching the limit, costs will be charged to authors, who, in the case of hybrid journals, may request to opt out of the open access model and publish under the subscription model.
Eligible articles: under the Springer component, original papers and review papers; under the Nature component, exclusively original papers.
Licences: CC BY or CC BY-NC (where CC BY is not permitted by the journal).
