The ASAP Inter-University Research Centre for Innovation and Service Management in Industrial Companies was established in 2022 through an agreement between the University of Brescia, the University of Bergamo, the University of Florence and the University of Eastern Piedmont.
The Centre builds on the experience of the ASAP community, which has brought universities and companies together in the fields of service management and servitisation since 2003.
ASAP studies how industrial companies can innovate by developing advanced services and integrated solutions. Its research focuses particularly on digital servitisation, outcome-based models, environmental sustainability and the circular economy.
The Centre’s activities cover three main areas: research and innovation, education and training, and the application and transfer of research results.
In particular, the Centre aims to:
- promote, organise and carry out research projects on servitisation and service-led innovation in industrial companies, including joint projects involving its member universities;
- share and promote research results through academic and professional publications, events and other initiatives for universities and companies;
- organise conferences, workshops and webinars to encourage discussion and collaboration between researchers, managers, entrepreneurs and industry experts;
- support innovation and technology transfer by working with innovation networks, university spin-offs, companies, associations and research institutions, in accordance with intellectual property rules;
- create internship and collaboration opportunities for students, graduates, doctoral candidates and early-career researchers at member universities and external partner organisations;
- design and deliver teaching activities within degree courses, doctoral programmes and university master’s programmes;
- provide qualified teaching for management and professional training programmes organised by companies and other partners;
- develop partnerships with research groups, international associations and professional communities working in the Centre’s areas of interest, also through an Advisory Board of academics and experts;
- encourage dialogue with local and national public institutions and contribute to the development of regulations and industrial policies concerning servitisation, digitalisation and sustainability.
By bringing universities and companies together, ASAP aims to create new knowledge and turn research results into innovation and shared value, contributing to a more competitive, efficient and sustainable industrial system
