The University Centre for Study and Research on “Drug Documentation, Information and Education” (D.I.F.F.) was established within the Department of Molecular and Translational Medicine (DMMT), with its administrative headquarters located within the Department.

The Centre’s objectives are to:

  • Promote, support and strengthen basic and clinical pharmacological research, as well as pharmacovigilance programmes and studies, through training and research initiatives developed in collaboration with general practitioners, community paediatricians, scientific societies, professional associations and regulatory bodies, and university institutions.
  • Develop information and educational programmes to enhance understanding of the specific characteristics of different classes of medicines and promote their safe and appropriate use.
  • Provide physicians and healthcare professionals with information on the properties, uses and adverse effects of medicines.
  • Organise scientific seminars and conferences to deepen knowledge of medicines currently available on the market, with particular focus on their mechanisms of action, therapeutic applications, adverse effects and toxicological effects.
  • Establish and maintain links with relevant observatories to ensure the continuous updating of information on the results of clinical trials conducted in Italy and worldwide.
  • Strengthen engagement and collaboration with patient associations, the medical and scientific community, and companies involved in the production and distribution of medicines.
