The “Teresa Camplani” University Interdepartmental Research Centre for Neuromuscular Function and Adapted Physical Activity was established within the Department of Clinical and Experimental Sciences (DSCS), which also serves as its administrative headquarters.
The Centre’s activities are conducted in accordance with the principles of interdisciplinarity and may involve academic staff from the Departments of Clinical and Experimental Sciences (DSCS), Information Engineering (DII), Mechanical and Industrial Engineering (DIMI), and Civil, Environmental, Architectural Engineering and Mathematics (DICATAM).
The Centre’s mission is to conduct studies and promote research into basic neuromuscular function, as well as neuromuscular function in the presence of primary disorders of skeletal muscle and the motor control system, through the measurement of electromyographic, mechanomyographic and other related signals.
Adapted physical activity, in response to alterations in the function of muscle groups involved in movement, is investigated from ergo metabolic and biomechanical perspectives, with the aim of providing data to support the functional recovery process.
