International Summer School 2025 – “Deindustrialisation as a Project”

Dall'8 al 13 settembre 2025
Università degli Studi di Brescia e Parco dell’Adamello

From 8 to 13 September 2025, the International Summer School ‘Deindustrialisation as a Project | The Project within Deindustrialisation’ will take place, promoted by the University of Brescia and the University of Ferrara, with the support of the Province of Brescia, the UNITA - Universitas Montium Alliance and the TNE - Transnational Education project.

The Summer School, aimed at master's students, doctoral students and researchers, intends to explore deindustrialisation as a political, ecological and territorial project. Activities will focus on the revaluation of post-industrial territories, forms of living in urban and rural contexts in transition, and environmental contamination in its material, historical and political dimensions.

The sessions will take place in Brescia and Valcamonica, with particular attention to Via Milano (Brescia), the UCAR Carbon/ex-Selca site in Forno Allione and Valsaviore, interpreted as part of a single, complex deindustrialised territory.

Scientific and organisational coordination is entrusted to Barbara Badiani, Marco Alioni, Barbara Angi and Irene Peron of the University of Brescia and Elena Dorato and Richard Lee Peragine of the University of Ferrara. The Scientific Committee involves scholars from the University of Brescia, Ca' Foscari University of Venice, Turin Polytechnic, Concordia University in Montréal, the University of Zaragoza, and the University of Tuzla. Speakers include Steven High, Damir Arsenijevic, Lucía Carmen Pérez Moreno, Gilda Zazzara, and Antonio di Campli.
