From September 22 to 26, 2026, the annual meeting of the International MAQC Society (Massive Analysis and Quality Control) will be held at the Engineering (Via Branze, 38) and CSMT (Via Branze, 45) campuses, focusing on the theme “Precision in a Complex World.”
The MAQC Society was established by the FDA and the group led by Weida Tong, who is responsible for regulatory aspects of AI related to safety. MAQC is the scientific community where quality control standards for microarrays and NGS were developed, as well as the development of predictive biomarkers derived from their combinations. It is, of course, dedicated to the complexities of AI applications in omics and digital biomarkers.
During the pre-conference sessions on the 22nd and 23rd, there will be review talks and refresher tutorials for industrial R&D. On the 24th, there will be a talk by Lee Hood, the father of systems medicine; a talk by Christopher Mason on the BioAstra mission—which involves omics sampling in extreme environments to prepare for medicine on space missions; and a session on digital biomarkers. A group from Shanghai and Seattle will hold a satellite workshop on the Human Phenome.
