Three days of free events, performances, and concerts to share the activities, achievements, and methods of science with the local community. From November 6 to 8, the Brescia Scienza Festival returns; for its 2026 edition, the festival will explore the theme “Equilibrium” through a dialogue between scientific disciplines, art, and the humanities.

Following the “zero” edition in 2025, the Festival is part of a broader cultural project: Brescia Scienza, launched by the UNIBS Foundation and the Università di Brescia, with the support of the Fondazione della Comunità Bresciana, the Provincia di Brescia, the Camera di Commercio and the Fondazione ASM. The partnership, coordinated by the UNIBS Foundation, has expanded this year to include new organizations, such as the Università Cattolica, Confindustria Brescia and other institutions in the city’s cultural landscape, with the goal of promoting scientific knowledge, analytical and critical thinking, and a conscious focus on technological innovation.

The project offers events and activities throughout the year, with a particular focus on multidisciplinarity and the intersection with art and the humanities, to foster a more supportive environment and mindset toward learning, the sciences, scientific culture, and sustainable innovation.

The Festival Program

The Festival will open Friday, November 6 at the Chamber of Commerce with a morning session dedicated specifically to students, featuring presentations by Dr. Ersilia Vaudo-Scarpetta of the European Space Agency and Prof. Germano Bonomi of the Università di Brescia.

In the afternoon, the Catholic University on Via Trieste will host the event “Neuroscience and Humanoid Robotics: Social Impact and Ethical Implications,” while the university’s campus at Via Mameli 27 will host “In the Footsteps of Giants: Golgi from Valcamonica to Stockholm.” In the evening, at the Sant’Afra Theater, the performance “I Am Science” will bring women in science to the stage.

Saturday, November 7, the program will explore the relationship between artificial intelligence and mathematics, as well as the applications of AI in business processes. In the afternoon, the program includes the roundtable discussion “The Algorithm of Beauty. Rhythm and Balance Between Music and Science,” at Via Mameli 27, and a conversation between Nobel Prize winner in Physics Prof. Giorgio Parisi and Prof. Antonio Masiero, at the university campus on Via San Faustino 74/b. The day will conclude with a symphonic/chamber music concert presented by the “Luca Marenzio” Conservatory of Brescia at the Sant’Afra Theater.

On Sunday, November 8, Prof. Jan Semenza, Prof. Franco Locatelli and Rector Prof. Francesco Castelli will speak at the Via San Faustino 74/b Department. In the afternoon, at the Università Cattolica on Via Trieste 17, the event “Out of Balance: When Matter Sets Itself in Motion” will take place. A jazz concert by the “Luca Marenzio” Conservatory at the Sant’Afra Theater will close the Festival.
