THE World University Rankings 2023. University of Brescia ranks 87 th in the world in the category assessing impact of scientific citations

In the 2023 edition of THE World University Rankings, the outstanding international ranking edited by the independent British magazine Times Higher Education on the world's best universities, University of Brescia is confirmed, for the second consecutive year, as being in the segment 351-400 on a total of 1799 universities and sets another major international milestone, gaining the 87 th position in the world in the category assessing the impact of scientific citations (score 95.2). In the national rankings the university of Brescia is placed twelfth among 55 Italian universities taken into consideration.

Maurizio Tira, the Rector, – University of Brescia achieves a position within the range 351-400 in the rankings of the world's best universities, confirming its international reputation. This is an achievement all the more important at international level if you consider that the number of universities in the running is increasing daily. This result fills us with satisfaction and rewards the commitment of the whole academic community».

Prof. Roberto Ranzi, Rector's Delegate for International Affairs, Cooperation, and Development and Ranking Coordination stresses how «the assessment rewards the advancements in the quality of teaching, research and internationalisation, in the face of the growing number of foreign students and the steady increase in international reputation of our university».

THE World University Rankings ranks universities on the basis of 13 performance indicators grouped into 5 macroareas: teaching, research, impact of scientific citations, knowledge transfer and internationalisation. On the whole, results are improving also for the categories: internationalisation (42.5 points), knowledge transfer (40.2), teaching (26.4) and research (18.8).
