FEBS congress

On June 29 to July 3, 2024, the 48th FEBS congress for scientists from all over Europe and other parts of the world was held at MiCo in Milan. The Italian Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (SIB) was the host society for the event.

The 48th FEBS Congress presented a broad and innovative scientific program, complemented by fruitful collaboration with FEBS journals and representatives of FEBS constituent societies. The focus on human health and well-being through molecular and cellular scientific approaches reflects a key societal issue and a specific commitment of SIB and the entire biochemical community at a time of continuing global transitions. In addition to important research topics following the latest and emerging developments in the biochemical sciences, congress activities included dedicated education-oriented sessions, symposia organized by young biochemists, and biochemistry-related economic discussions.

Young students from the degree program in Biotechnology and the master's degree program in Medical Biotechnology of the University of Brescia had the opportunity to participate as FEBS staff, collaborating in the management of the space and the proper execution of the lectures, as well as being guests on the working days, thus having the opportunity to attend important lectures by researchers and scientists, including some Nobel laureates.
