WELCOME TO DICATAM
The Department of Civil Engineering, Architecture, Land and Environment and Mathematics (DICATAM) was born in 2012 from the union of the Department of Civil Engineering (established in 1988, six years after the birth of the University of Brescia, then renamed Department of Civil Engineering, Architecture, Land and Environment) and by the Department of Mathematics (established in 1999). DICATAM is one of the three departments of the Macroarea of Engineering (former Faculty of Engineering).
The Department is characterized by the presence of research groups with a strong interdisciplinary character, active in the sectors of civil engineering-building-architecture and construction, techniques and strategies for territorial management and for the de-pollution and protection of the environment. , sustainable agriculture as well as mathematical and physical sciences. The transversality of the research carried out by the various groups present in the department is widely consolidated and is a highly qualifying factor of scientific production, appreciated internationally. Alongside important scientific awards, the activity is characterized by a strong vocation towards the territory: the research activity on behalf of third parties and, in general, of the third mission, is intense and qualified and is carried out through fruitful collaborations with numerous local companies national and international, local bodies and institutions.
DICATAM includes three three-year degree courses (Civil Engineering, Engineering for the environment and the territory, Sustainable agricultural systems, the latter recently activated), two master's degrees (Civil Engineering and Engineering for the environment and the territory), a master's degree in English (Civil and environmental Engineering), with a strong international vocation, a five-year single-cycle master's degree with European recognition (Building Engineering-Architecture) and a recently established professional degree in Building Techniques. About 1,300 students attend the courses belonging to the department.
The Department has a PhD course in Civil, Environmental, International Cooperation and Mathematics Engineering (DICACIM).
The Department delivers its activities in the three areas (research, teaching and third mission) in accordance with the requirements of the ANVUR self-assessment and accreditation system (AVA).
All interested parties are invited to visit the DICATAM Department through its web pages or with a face-to-face visit during which you can see the infrastructures and laboratories!
