The Brain Health Centre is based at the Department of Clinical and Experimental Sciences (DSCS) of the University fo Brescia.

The activities are supported by professors and researchers from the Departments of Clinical and Experimental Sciences of the University, Department of Molecular and Translational Medicine, Department of Medical-Surgical Specialties, Radiological Sciences and Public Health, and alfor by professors from outside the University.

The activity of the Center include the following initiatives:

• carrying out interdisciplinary research aimed at studying the protective and preventive factors of brain health;

• carrying out interdepartmental and interdisciplinary research aimed at the study of pathogenetic mechanisms and the development of early diagnostic markers and outcomes of the state of cerebral health;

• promotion and organization of registries and observational studies aimed at evaluating factors related to brain aging and its prevention;

• development of screening programs aimed at early identification of risk factors and protective factors of brain health;

• implementation of research aimed at developing pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapeutic interventions aimed at promoting brain health, with the experimentation of new methods of remote monitoring, adoption of new educational systems, evaluation of compliance;

• evaluation of the efficacy of new treatments, including phase I and II studies and collaboration on phase III studies;

• organization of seminars and national and international study conferences relating to the research aims of the centre;

• organization of workshops related to prevention objectives, implementation of new diagnostic-therapeutic protocols and brain health assessment methods;

• promotion and support of patient associations, their families, interested doctors, aimed at raising awareness of issues relating to brain damage associated with brain aging and neurological diseases.
