Just a few days before the European Day of Languages—which, on September 26, celebrates the languages of the European Union as tools for inclusion and the promotion of cultural identities—the cloisters of San Faustino will host the 5th International ELT Conference, “New Trends in English Teaching, Learning, and Education” on October 2 and 3, organized by the CLA Unibs (University Language Center). Scholars from around the world will discuss the topic English(es) for Academic and Professional Purposes: how to teach English in a way that effectively meets the needs of the workplace. The focus will be on innovative teaching methods, the new professional skills required, professional development and continuing education, and the role of artificial intelligence in the design and delivery of language courses.
The program includes three keynote lectures by experts in specialized and sector-specific communication, as well as several parallel sessions, ranging from English-Medium Instruction to English for engineering, health sciences, and business. The event will conclude on Saturday with the ELT Open Forum, an open discussion space on the future challenges of research.
