On 9 May, the Sala Consiliare of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Brescia will host an important scientific and commemorative event: the 7th Meeting of the Brunelli Club.
An appointment that will bring together top experts in Hand Surgery, Microsurgery and Treatment of Midullary Injuries, in a scientific confrontation of the highest level.
During the scientific day, the RITMO Research Centre (Centre for Research and Technological Innovation in Traumatology, Surgery of the Hand and Orthopaedics) will be officially inaugurated, a reality born thanks to the vision of Prof. Giuseppe Milano, Director of the Orthopaedic Clinic at A.S.T. Spedali Civili of Brescia and the fundamental contribution of Dr. Pierangelo Guizzi, Director of the Osteoarticular Department at ASST Spedali Civili of Brescia. The Centre is dedicated to the memory of Prof. Giorgio Brunelli who, during his lifetime, expressed the desire to donate his educational and scientific heritage accumulated over a lifetime: books, notes, drawings, research, instruments; tangible evidence of a life devoted to knowledge, care and innovation. This donation is not just a symbolic gesture: it is an investment in the future. The materials, housed in the same rooms where Brunelli worked with excellence as an orthopaedic surgeon and pioneer of microsurgery and hand surgery, thus become a precious tool for training and research activities, offering new generations tools, memory and vision.
Authorities present:
Francesco Castelli, Rector of the University of Brescia;
Luigi Cajazzo, General Director ASST Spedali Civili of Brescia;
Annalisa Voltolini, Vice President of the Order of Physicians, Surgeons and Dentists of the Province of Brescia
Raisa Labaran, Councillor with responsibility for Health, Municipality of Brescia.
