On 27 and 28 November 2025, the Faculty of Economics at the University of Brescia hosted the presentation conference of the research project “Social, economic and legal challenges in water governance for a climate-resilient and sustainable future”, coordinated by Dr. Domini and awarded the UNITA Starting Grant.
The project, led by the University of Brescia, involves three departments — DICATAM, DEM and DIGI — as well as three partner universities within the UNITA network: the Universidade da Beira Interior (UBI), the Università di Torino (UNITO) and the Haute École Spécialisée de Suisse Occidentale (HES-SO). Collaboration among these diverse academic institutions is one of the project’s strengths, bringing together complementary expertise and perspectives.
The central aim of the project is to address emerging challenges in water governance within the context of climate change by adopting a multidisciplinary and international approach. The research seeks to develop a multisectoral working group capable of building a shared language and common vision to analyse critical issues, discuss future scenarios and propose innovative solutions in the fields of water policies and circular economy.
The inaugural conference provided an important space for dialogue, critical reflection and mutual learning, fostering the co-creation of ideas and strategies among researchers and participants.
